The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo
Oasis in the Tokyo Sky

No spa can beat the magnificent views from the Spa at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, located on 37th floor in the midst of crowded Tokyo. The night view is especially breathtaking, reminding you of the beauty and dynamism of Tokyo.

Having 41 hotels in over 25 countries, the Mandarin is sure to have strong brand power and first-class hospitality.  Five out of nine rooms are spacious suites and all are furnished differently -- romantic couple suites with a floating-rose-petal bath, oriental floor mat style (where private yoga, tai chi, and Thai massages can take place), the Moroccan inspired room, etc.  All rooms are furnished with natural elements of wood and stone, calming your mind and soul.

The spa makes sure that each guest enjoys an unforgettable spa journey.
First, all treatments begin with the “foot ritual”. You soak your feet in warm water mixed with sea salt, crystal, azuki bean, and pure essential oils, while sipping a specially blended herb tea. Then, treatment begins with a Tibetan bell to relax your mind and clear your energy.

Try the “Azuki Ritual”, exclusive to Mandarin Tokyo. Locally grown fresh Azuki paste is ground and mixed with other natural ingredients at the time of each treatment.  Rich in minerals and vitamins, Azuki beans are known for high power antioxidants – perfect for anti-aging.

The spa’s newest signature treatment is quite wellness-oriented. Based on the concept of traditional Chinese medicine (theory of Yin-Yang and five elements) and aromatherapy, each treatment and oils will be tailored to your personal and current state of wellbeing. Lifestyle guidance such as nutrition and exercise is also provided for the home regime (110 min, about $440 for weekday and $460 for weekend). The spa goes beyond beauty and focuses on healing your soul, balancing your emotions, and maintaining your health and wellbeing.

As for the products, the spa uses Aromatherapy Associates, Danielle de Winter (an organic line from Monaco) and Skinn for men, in addition to their original signature line. Needless to say, all are high-end.

Oh, don’t forget to arrive one hour earlier than your appointment. You cannot miss their “heat and water areas”, where you can enjoy a spectacular view while plunging into the vitality pool or warming up in a dry sauna. It is a heavenly moment!
