Nihon Buyo
Maintain Geisha Beauty through Japanese Dance

You’ve probably heard about geishas and maikos who wear gorgeous Japanese kimonos, put on heavy makup, and act elegantly with beautiful posture. You wonder why they look so feminine and sensual. In fact, they must learn various arts of gracious etiquettes to become professionals.
Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance) is one of them. It takes a lot of practice to adapt supple movement and flow.

Now in modern society, the movement of Nihon Buyo becomes a part of exercise.
A Nihon Buyo class teaches different aspects of basic movement – sitting, walking, bowing, kneeling on your knees, etc. Focusing on your posture and movement details are the key.
Straighten your spine while moving your weight down while bending your knees, then, separate your body parts (such as hands, legs, and neck) from the body core in to its own movement – to eliminate unnecessary movement.   You need to pay attention to the details - how to lean your head and how to shape your fingers.

It is definitely a body-mind approach exercise, but actually makes you sweat.
You can try on a yukata (Japanese cotton kimono) and use a Japanese folding fan as a tool.
It is cool to experience the spirit of Japanese culture while getting a workout.
